Customers note - Pressure Reducing Valve: Different
states and local government authorities have different policies about the
use of pressure reducing/check valves in filter installations. Please
check with your local authority for backflow/pressure reduction requirements
before installing your filter. These
filters are designed for pressures well below 100psi/.7MPa (normal city
water pressure is around 85PSI). For known or suspected high water pressure
installations, we strongly recommend the use of a pressure-limiting valve. These
valves help protect the filter by keeping pressures within the filter below
a safe pressure level, and by stopping backflow into the water main from the
filter. ACTF
supplies a constant pressure/check valve as an optional extra for its range
of filters. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to check if such a valve
is necessary for his or her own installation. No warranty claims will be
accepted for filters damaged by excessive water pressure. Installation The
constant pressure/ pressure-reducing valve is installed at the filter inlet,
using the 20mm nipple provided. Its internal plunger works to prevent excess
pressure in the filter. You
need to install the valve with the arrow pointing in the direction of water
flow. The valve is pre-set to allow only a maximum of 45PSI in the filter
and you do not need to adjust it. Install cold water pipe to valve inlet and
plumb the filter in according to instructions. ACTF
